***I usually shop on Sundays but had to go on Saturday. I was so relieved to see Mike there. He is always friendly, knowledgeable and professional. WHAT IS THE AGE LIMIT TO BUY WEED IN SANTA BARBARA COUNTY?
Farmacy Isla Vista is an adult-use cannabis retail store. Customers who are 21 or older can purchase products with a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport to prove it.
Cannabis consumers under 21 but over 18 can also enter and shop for products at the weed store in Isla Vista if they have a state medical card or verified medical recommendation. New clients are required to present a physical copy of their medical recommendation for their first purchase. No screenshots, please!
HOW CAN I PAY FOR FARMACY ISLA VISTA WEED?
We accept cash payments and cashless prepay powered by Jane Pay. Debit transactions will be accompanied by a $2.75 transaction fee. Some banks may charge their cardholders an additional fee in accordance with their own policies.
Due to federal regulations, we cannot accept credit cards yet, but this scenario may change in the future.
HOW MUCH WILL I PAY IN TAXES WHEN I BUY CANNABIS AT FARMACY ISLA VISTA?
When we talk about taxes on cannabis sales, we’re talking about three different tax types:
Cannabis State Excise Tax – The cannabis state excise tax is imposed upon purchasers of all cannabis and cannabis products at a rate of 15% of the Taxable Excise Total *see below for formula. Retailers are responsible for collecting the cannabis excise tax from purchasers at the time of the retail sale and pay the cannabis excise tax to the CDTFA.
County Tax – 6% for Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) Card Holders and 6% for all other Adult Use/Recreational Purchases
Sales Tax – Nearly all products in California are subject to a general sales tax, and cannabis is no exception. While the excise tax is the same no matter where you buy, sales tax varies depending on your city or county. Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) holders are exempt from sales tax on medical products. Per the CDTFA, Sales tax is calculated after delivery fees (if applicable), local county tax and 15% cannabis state excise tax has been added to your purchase.
Farmacy Isla Vista’s Tax Formula:
Purchase Total + 6% County Tax (or 6% for MMIC) + Delivery Fees (if applicable) = Taxable Excise Total
Taxable Excise Total + 15% Cannabis State Excise Tax= Subtotal
Subtotal + 7.75% Sales Tax = FINAL COST
HOW CAN I BE REWARDED FOR BEING A LOYAL CUSTOMER WHEN SHOPPING AT FARMACY ISLA VISTA?

HOW MUCH CANNABIS I CAN PURCHASE?
California’s legal limits on cannabis purchases are applied to two different use types—Adult-use for anyone 21+, and Medicinal use, which applies to cannabis purchased by someone with a medical card or physician’s recommendation and who may be 18 or older.
- Adult-Use (Flower – 28.5 grams & Concentrates – 8 grams)
- Medicinal (8 ounces of cannabis – dried flower or concentrated plant conversion)
CAN I ORDER AHEAD AND PICKUP IN-STORE?
Yes, customers at our Isla Vista location have the option to conveniently place their orders online through our website and pick them up at the store within 15 minutes. To take advantage of this, sign up at the website, search through our menu, add the products to the cart, and ORDER ONLINE.
CAN I HAVE MY CANNABIS DELIVERED TO ME?
The dispensary in Isla Vista does not have a delivery service yet. However, Farmacy can deliver to you from our Santa Barbara location. Simply order delivery now through our Farmacy Santa Barbara website.
CAN I USE CANNABIS AT FARMACY ISLA VISTA?
No, consumption is not allowed on site at this time.
You can use cannabis on private property. You cannot use, smoke, eat, or vape adult-use cannabis in public places.
It is against the law for you to have an open container of cannabis in a vehicle while driving or riding in the passenger seat. It is illegal to smoke cannabis in an operating vehicle. Be safe. Be smart.
IS THERE PARKING AT THE FARMACY?
The Farmacy has 4 non-reserved public parking spaces available for use in the parking lot at the corner of Pardall and Embarcadero del Mar. We strive to be a good neighbor and ask that you are careful not to block driveways or double-park when visiting Farmacy Isla Vista. There is plenty of space for your bikes!
