WHAT IS THE AGE LIMIT TO BUY WEED IN SANTA YNEZ?

Farmacy Santa Ynez is an adult-use cannabis retail store, which means that anyone with a valid gov’t-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state id or passport, showing they’re at least 21 years of age can purchase products here. No prescriptions or medical cards are required.

*Note: A patient that is under 21 but at least 18 years old may enter and purchase cannabis if they have a state medical card or verified medical recommendation.

HOW CAN I PAY AT THE FARMACY SANTA YNEZ DISPENSARY?

Farmacy Santa Ynez accepts cash payments, debit transactions, and cashless prepay powered by Stronghold. Debit transactions will be accompanied by a $2.75 transaction fee. Some banks may charge their cardholders an additional fee in accordance with their own policies.

Unfortunately, due to federal regulations, we cannot accept credit cards. We hope this will change in the next few years.

When we talk about taxes on cannabis sales, we’re talking about three different tax types:

Cannabis State Excise Tax – The cannabis state excise tax is imposed upon purchasers of all cannabis and cannabis products at a rate of 15% of the Taxable Excise Total *see below for formula. Retailers are responsible for collecting the cannabis excise tax from purchasers at the time of the retail sale and pay the cannabis excise tax to the CDTFA.

County Tax – 6% for MMIC Card Holders and 6% for all other Adult Use/Recreational Purchases

Sales Tax – Nearly all products in California are subject to a general sales tax, and cannabis is no exception. While the excise tax is the same no matter where you buy, sales tax varies depending on your city or county. Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) holders are exempt from sales tax on medical products.  Per the CDTFA, Sales tax is calculated after delivery fees (if applicable), local county tax and 15% cannabis state excise tax has been added to your purchase.

FARMACY SANTA YNEZ’S TAX FORMULA:

Purchase Total + 6% County Tax (or 6% for MMIC) + Delivery Fees (if applicable) = Taxable Excise Total

Taxable Excise Total + 15% Cannabis State Excise Tax= Subtotal

Subtotal + 7.75% Sales Tax = FINAL COST

California’s legal limits on cannabis purchases are applied to two different use types—Adult-use for anyone 21+, and Medicinal use, which applies to cannabis purchased by someone with a medical card or physician’s recommendation.

• Medicinal (8 ounces of cannabis – dried flower or concentrated plant conversion)
